The ČZW 762 was a Czech intermediate-caliber assault rifle designed and manufactured by Czech Weapons s.r.o in prototype form only during the early 2000s.

History[]

The developmental history of the ČZW 762 is not well documented, however it is likely to be designed for use by the military and other law enforcement agencies, similar to the ČZW 556; the rifle is listed as a light machine gun on the Czech Weapons website.[1] It, like most other ČZW weapons, appears to be a testbed for delayed blowback technology.

An updated version of the weapon was showcased in 2014.

Design Details[]

The ČZW 762 is a assault rifle using lever delayed blowback. The weapon features a folding stock; the weapon is said to externally resemble the AK series of weapons.[1] The weapon is select fire and fires from an open bolt;[2] the action of the weapon is said to be remarkably similar to that as seen on the AB-5,56 and AVB-7,62 designed by Anatoly Baryshev. A Picatinny rail is present on the weapon, as well as sights which can be adjusted from 100 to 400 meters. The weapon also claims to be able to be converted to various other calibers for various other applications; what these calibers are are not mentioned in any form.
