In firearms, an Ancillary weapon is a type of weapon used as a tool for a usually one off purpose job (IE: doorbreaching/method of entry etc). Many have evolved into Underslung firearms for standby.
The term in some cases also refers to backup weapons such as sidearms, bayonets etc.
