The Lavina (Bulgarian: Лавина, lit. "Avalanche") is a grenade launcher designed and manufactured by Bulgarian company Arsenal AD.
Design[]
The Lavina is a revolver-type grenade launcher, similar to the likes of Milkor MGL. However, unlike the MGL, the Lavina doesn't have a barrel, and only has a muzzle. Instead, each of its six cylinder chambers are rifled. This makes the Lavina significantly more compact than similar weapons.
The Lavina fires caseless VOG-25 40mm grenade rounds. The cylinder is rotated by a clockwork spring when firing, which is wound up when reloading. New grenade rounds are loaded in from the front through the muzzle.
The Lavina features a double-action trigger, a telescoping stock, a wooden foreend, and folding ladder sights. The sights can be ranged from 100 to 400 meters, in increments of 50 meters.
