The Brügger & Thomet APC556 (Advanced Police Carbine) is a carbine designed and manufactured by Brügger & Thomet. It is intended to be used by police and security forces, but it is believed that a military version is planned.
Design details[]
The APC556 is gas-operated selectively-fired weapons of similar design. Both employ short-stroke gas piston located above the barrel, and multi-lug rotary bolt which locks into the barrel extension.[1] The gas system is equipped with a manual regulator to ensure reliable functioning with or without sound suppressor. The gas system of the APC-556 is designed to handle all types of 5.56 to.300 whisper ammunition (subsonic or supersonic) without any manual adjustments.
