HenryVIII's rifle

Actual Breech-loading Matchlock owned by Henry VIII, matchlock mechanism missing

The Breech-loading Matchlock was a custom built matchlock rifle which was loaded from the breech rather than the normal muzzle loading varients.

King Henry VIII of Englandhad a breech-loading matchlock rifle made for him in the 16th century, which he used for hunting.

The breech block rotates on the left on the hinges, and is loaded with a reloadable iron cartridge. Making it faster and quicker to load than its muzzle loading counterparts.
