The CS/LR17 and the CS/LR18 is a Chinese "new generation" modular rifle system.
Overview[]
First publicly shown at the Zhuhai Airshow in November 2016, the CS/LR17 modular rifle system is designed for export market to compete with other rifles like the AK-12 and IWI ACE. A heavily redesigned version of the rifle was shown at the Zhuhai Airshow in 2018.
Design[]
The CS/LR17 is a long-stroke piston, gas-operated and rotating bolt weapon that uses a conventional design like the QBZ-03 with top aluminum and bottom polymer casings. It used many features that haven't been used on Chinese firearms before such as a khaki finish, full length MIL-STD-1913 rails on the receiver to the handguard top, folding and telescoping stock, backup folding iron sights mounted on the tactical rails, top rail accompanied with a lightweight handguard with KeyMod attachment points on the side and bottom (attachment holes are likely do not match the open source KeyMod technical parameters, and is not true KeyMod) and free-floating handguard. Three different calibers are available with multiple barrel lengths (three for NAR-739, four for NAR-556 and NAR-751).[1]
