The CS/LR19, formerly designated as the NSG-85, is a Chinese sniper rifle.
History[]
The CS/LR19 was originally shown off at EUROSATORY 2014 in June, then known as the NSG-85. Production began in June 2014.
Design Details[]
The CS/LR19 is very heavily based on the Dragunov sniper rifle, specifically, the Chinese Type 85 sniper rifle, as evidenced by its overall shape and construction; in fact, it uses the same caliber and takes the same magazines as the Dragunov. However, the CS/LR19 has various improvements over the Type 85, such as the replacement of the side-mounted Warsaw Pact rail with a top-mounted Picatinny rail and the removal of the weapon's iron sights and bayonet lug. The trigger guard is enlarged to allow gloved hands to use the weapon, and the weapon's barrel appears to not use any sort of muzzle brake or suppressor.
