SIG Sauer AG (formerly SAN Swiss Arms AG) is a Swiss small arms manufacturer based in Neuhausen am Rheinfall. Formerly part of SIG, Swiss Arms is currently Switzerland's largest firearms manufacturer. Their most popular weapon at present is the SG 550 line of assault rifles. Swiss Arms are part of the chain of companies that make up SIG Sauer GmbH.
History[]
Swiss Arms AG was formed in 2000 when SIG sold their armaments division to Lüke & Ortmeier Holdings. Since then the company has slowly developed its processes and construction of firearms, benefiting greatly through heavy investment by parent company SIG Sauer in 2005, increasing the amount and quality of machinery and workforce.
Swiss Arms is closely affiliated with Sauer & Sohn, Mauser Jagdwaffen GmbH, Blaser; all companies that fall under the SIG Sauer syndicate. Under the partnership, Swiss Arms manufacture a large number of parts and accessories for weapons made by its sister companies, chief amongst which are barrels.
