The Frolov pistol carbine (пистолет-карабин Фролова / Пистолет-пулемёт Фролова) was a prototype submachine gun from Russia designed around 1912-1914 by the arms master at Tula. Frolov also designed a 7.62x54mmR rifle variant but not much is known of this example. However the pistol carbine was tested and found to be unreliable in tests, it still turned out to be the first Russian designed submachine gun.
