History[edit | edit source]
The Gressar 2000 was most likely made in an attempt to improve the ergonomics of the Browning BAR. The kit first entered production in approximately 2001; the kit appears to no longer be in production as it is no longer advertised on the Waffen Greger website, although the company is still active in the production of other sporting goods such as paintball markers.
Design Details[edit | edit source]
The Gressar 2000 is a rifle chassis for the Browning BAR, converting it into a bullpup configuration. There is a trapdoor which holds the magazine in place. Two-round magazines are supplied as standard with the kit, although three- or four-round magazines are also available; hunting with semi-automatic rifles holding more than two rounds is prohibited in Germany, however. The charging handle for the weapon is located on the right hand side of the weapon. The kit appears to use a Heckler & Koch SL8's rail mounting system.
