A grenade launcher is a weapon that fires a specially-designed large-caliber projectile, usually filled with a smoke, gas or explosive warhead, though the term when used in today's context usually refers to weapons firing large grenade cartridges. While usually being man-portable and being able to be used by a single person, grenade launchers come in different varieties, such as single-shot launchers, launchers with revolving cylinders, underslung grenade launchers and even fully-automatic belt-fed launchers. Normal calibers for grenade launchers include 25mm, 37mm and 40mm.
