The HSARI LR2 (Chinese: LR2型狙击步枪) is a Chinese anti-materiel rifle.

History[]

The LR2 was first shown off at the Asia-Pacific China Police Expo in 2012, along with various other firearms. The LR2 was apparently exported to other countries for usage, and apparently received praise.

Design Details[]

Designed around 2012, the LR2 is a hand-built sniper rifle with a lot of patented components. The weapon is a bolt-action, hammer-fired sniper rifle that is meant to have minimal recoil, be compact and be light at the same time. It is quite similar to the Barrett M95 in terms of appearance and performance; however, the LR2 uses drum magazines instead of box magazines and is chambered for an entirely different cartridge.

Ammunition[]

The weapon uses standard 12.7×108mm bullets. Interestingly, Chinese companies have yet to develop a specialized load of for the bullet, and as such, performance of the LR2 is deemed inferior to other sniper rifles.
