The High-Velocity Underbarreled Grenade Launcher (HVUGL) is an underbarreled grenade launcher designed by Norwegian arms manufacturer Defence & Security Group (DSG).

Overview[]

The HVUGL was first unveiled at DSEi 2011 (Defence, Security and Equipment International) in London. It is an underbarreled grenade launcher designed to be used in conjunction with the Steyr AUG assault rifle. The HVUGL uses a patented "recoil-scattering" mechanism which allows it to fire 40x53mm grenades at 240m/s at a range of over 2 kilometers. Typically such firepower is reserved for mounted grenade launchers rather than portable weapons. The HVUGL is currently in prototype stages.
