C.G. Haenel GmbH,[1] known as Haenel Defence, is a German arms company founded in 2008.
History[]
Haenel was founded in 2008 as part of the Suhl Arms Alliance, a consortium of manufacturers including the Merkel company specializing in hunting rifles. The company as a whole is owned by Merkel Gruppe, which is in turn owned by Caracal International LLC, based in the United Arab Emirates. The company also has entered into a partnership with Swiss arms manufacturer Brügger & Thomet for the manufacture of suppressors.[2]
