The Jericho 941 pistol was developed by Israel's IMI as a military sidearm.

In no way an all-original design, they were patterned after Italian Tanfoglio pistols, who in turn were made by Czech Cz75.
Index 941 is a combination of two initial calibers available - 9x19 Parabellum and .41AE. However, .41AE had quickly become obsolete, and was replaced with .40S&W. Later, .45ACP was added, and ever since, those pistols are offered in all three calibers - 9mm, .40 and .45.
In the USA, Jericho 941 was marketed under the names "Baby Eagle", "Baby Desert Eagle" and even "Desert Eagle" itself. It has to be noted, however, that real Desert Eagle has little to do with Jericho 941. Only similarities between them are similar looks and, in past, shared .41 caliber, which is no longer available in either gun series.
Unlike the Desert Eagle, Jericho 941 is a versatile military/police weapon, utilizing common military ammunition types. It is employed by Israeli police and army, currently.
Technically, Jericho 941 operate on short recoil principle. The breech is locked by conventional Browning system. Safety can be frame-mounted, or slide-mounted with automatic decocker. Rifling is polygonal, though in 2005-2006 Jericho 941 pistols were manufactured with conventional land and groove rifling as a cost-saving measure.
