Kalashnikov Concern, formerly known as Izhevsk Machinebuilding Plant (Russian: Ижевский машиностроительный Завод, Izhevskiy Mashinostroitel'nyy Zavod) or IZhMASh (Russian: ИЖМАШ) is a firearm manufacturer, founded in 1807 at the decree of Tsar Alexander I. In August 2013 Izhmash were merged with the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, having previously been one of the largest corporations in the assault rifle field, with the Kalashnikov Concern forming as a result. In particular, Izhmash manufacture the famous Kalashnikov series of assault rifles, along with a host of other Russian arms, and have even been known to produce other goods, such as motorcycles and cars.
