The Karabinek wz. 2005 Jantar and the related Jantar-M are prototype Polish assault rifles.
History
The Jantar was a prototype created by Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna in 2005 to test the advantages of the bullpup configuration when compared to normal weapons; it was not intended for mass production or production of any kind. The Jantar's bullpup design proved to be a more accurate weapons layout for the burst-firing of carbines, and was meant to help FB to gain experience in the modernization of the Polish Army.
The research from the Jantar project culminated in the development of the Jantar-M, a modernized version of the normal Jantar. Only two prototypes were made; one Jantar prototype and one Jantar-M prototype.
Design Details
The weapon is based on the kbk wz. 2002 BIN, which in turn was based on the FB Beryl; however, the Jantar is also based on the FB Tantal. In fact, sources say that the Jantar was created by simply modernizing a Beryl. The Jantar-M has provisions for mounting a bayonet.

Modernized variant with polymer furniture, modified receiver, duralumin buttstock with rubber buttplate and a shortened distance between the pistol grip and the buttstock.
