The Kucher K1 is a Hungarian submachine gun.
History[]
The design was was based on the prototype Danuvia 44.M submachine gun made in 1944. This re-design was started by Kucher in 1949, where magazine foldability was eliminated, and the selector switch was retained for both full-auto and semi-auto fire. The K1 performed successfully during Military tests on 11 November 1951 in Táborfalva, after which it was adopted by the Defense Ministry and manufacturing was approved. The gun was claimed to have been put into service in 1953 and given the designation "53.M". It was usually referred to as the "Pénzügyõr Géppisztoly" (Treasury Guard Machine Pistol).
