Light Machine Guns (or LMG) is a type of weapon, usually made for support or cover fire. In a squad, one or two men will be armed with a LMG, depending on the mission they are on. Most Infantry or Light Infantry units will apply these. For a light machine gun, most use smaller rifle rounds, i.e the FN M249 SAW uses the 5.56 x 45 mm NATO round, which is chambered for the M16 rifle family. In this situation, the M249 can use the magazines of the M16 as a loading system, but several jamming situations have occurred from it.
