The M1916 Kalashnikov automatic rifle (M1916 Калашникова автоматическая винтовка) was a prototype self loading rifle designed by Mikhail Georgievich Kalashnikov in 1916 at the Sestroretsk plant as a possible replacement of the Fedorov Avtomat. The weapon used a delayed blowback operation and fed from a 14 round magazine.

It must be noted that this weapon is not from the same inventor of the AK-47.

The M1916 Kalashnikov was a 7.62x54mmR calibre delayed blowback operated firearm using M1891 Mosin Nagant components.
