The M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle (ESR), previously known as the XM2010 or M24E1, is a development to replace the old M24 sniper in the U.S. Army.

History[]

The rifle was developed so it can replace the M24, which had problems in Afghanistan. Besides, most M24s were sent to Remington, so it can be actualized and be more effective in long-range and more powerful.

It was originally meant to be a conversion kit for the M24, however, the gun became a different variant rather than a conversion kit, that 3 models were sent to the U.S. army to be field-tested in Afghanistan, the rifle was successful, so they requested 1,400 more rifles.

Design[]

The gun is a serious improvement from its predecessor, like the 5-round detachable magazine rather than the integral used by the M24.

The chassis is different from the classic Remington 700, the handguard has Picatinny rails in the top and bottom, plus M-LOK in the sight parts, the stock is foldable and adjustable for long or short-range engagements.
