A vz.61 Škorpion, an example of a machine pistol.

A machine pistol is an automatic pistol that fires as long as the trigger is compressed or the magazine is emptied, using pistol calibre ammunition. It is similar to a submachine gun, except that it is normally the size of a pistol. An example of such weapons would include the MAC-10 and Glock 18.
