The McMillan ALIAS CS5 (Concealable Subsonic/Supersonic Suppressed Sniper System)[1] is an American suppressed sniper rifle system.

History[]

The CS5 was introduced in February 2012 as a suppressed rifle for stealth and concealment in urban settings and is dedicated for that purpose. While the weapon is meant to be marketed to military personnel, the CS5 may also be purchased by civilians who possess the appropriate documentation.[2][3]

Design Details[]

The CS5 is part of McMillan's ALIAS series, essentially McMillan's version of the modular rifle concept; this essentially makes one rifle "have many identities". The rifle may be converted to the STAR and Target configurations due to interchangeable parts.[4]

The ALIAS action is built upon the action that McMillan designed for the Tubb 2000 competition rifle.[3] The weapon can break down into a number of parts to fit into a common backpack. The weapon claims to be able to deliver 0.5 MOA performance with both subsonic and supersonic ammunition. The weapon uses an AnschĆ¼tz match-grade trigger and was designed with extensive input from elite military personnel.[2]

The weapon comes in two different variations: Short and Stubby.[5] Both rifles are quite similar with the exception of different barrel lengths and overall profile.

Variants[]

The rifle has two variants; the CS5-Q and CS5-T. In gross terms both rifles are identical other than appearance.[1]
