The OFB R2 is a battle rifle designed by Ordnance Factory Board.
History[]
After the failure of the Excalibur Mark-I, OFB makes some improvements so it can compete with the IWI ACE 52 and IWI Tavor 7.[1]
However, it lost against the ACE 52.
Design[]
The rifle is pretty much an INSAS in 7.62 x 51 mm.
The new features are a new muzzle brake; a FAB Defense style handguard, stock, grip, and receiver; and new iron sights.[2]
The rifle has a lot of similarities with the AK family. Its receiver is milled, this means that the receiver is one solid piece of steel, and it uses a Krinkov swivel system.[1]
