Peter Andreevich Tkachev (Cyrillic: Пётр Андреевич Ткачёв) was a Russian weapons engineer.

History[]

Not much is known about his history. He appears to have worked at TsNIITochMash and frequently collaborated with Sergei Simonov, and mostly worked on unusual prototype weapon systems. He designed weapons such as the AO-38 and AO-62. He was involved in the creation of one of the earliest examples of the "delayed recoil impulse averaging" system that would eventually be used by the AN-94, and the "balanced action" system used in the AEK-971 and AEK-973, AKB and AL-7 assault rifles.
