The Reichsrevolver was a service revolver used by the German Army from 1879 to 1908.
Design Details[]
It is a solid frame, single action revolver chambered for an indigenous 10.6mm round. It had a loading gate on the right side and the cylinder could be released by moving the hammer to half cock, removing spent cartridges could be done by removing the cylinder and taking away the axis-pin then remove the empty cartridges by hand. Although the revolver's design was outdated, especially compared to the semi-automatic Luger pistol that replaced it, it was still popular for its robustness, that some revolvers had even managed to see service in World War I.
Variants[]
- M1883 - Variant with a 5 inch barrel.
