The MSR (Modular Sniper Rifle) is a sniper rifle designed and manufactured by Remington Arms.

History

The rifle was designed to compete in the Precision Sniper Rifle competition, finally winning on March 7 of 2013.

It was considered to be used as a replacement to the M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle and M24, but no action has been taken to do so.

In 2019, the USSOCOM announced that the MSR didn't conform them and that they will replace it with the Barrett MRAD.

Design

The gun has a modular and multi-calibre system, that can change within different calibres from the .308 Winchester till the .338 Norma Magnum.

The rifle has a patent-pending system that was created addresses the long-range and medium-range needs of the US armed forces requirements. This consist of that the barrel nut is accessible without the need to remove the handguard this means that the barrel can be changed without having to remove any accessories.
