The Remington Semi Automatic Sniper System, also known as the R11 RSASS, is an American sniper rifle.

History[]

Jointly designed by JP Enterprises and Remington in 2009, the RSASS' aim was to be a sniper rifle with top-notch build quality and high accuracy for militaries and law enforcement agencies, claiming that it "succeeds where others fail". As of 2013, the RSASS is marketed exclusively to militaries and law enforcement agencies and is not sold in the civilian market.

Design Details[]

The RSASS is heavily based on JP Enterprises' LRP-07; this is evident as certain elements of the LRP-07 carry over to the RSASS, the left-side mounted charging handle and trigger group being prime examples. The rifle is marketed as a complete package by Remington, with various accessories such as a Leupold telescopic sight and a Harris bipod among other things.

The rifle's charging handle, as stated above, is mounted on the left-hand side of the gun and folds away when not in use. The weapon comes standard with 18- or 20-inch stainless steel barrels fitted with flash hiders to ensure maximum accuracy; the barrels are also able to mount suppressors if required. The RSASS utilizes a direct impingement system with an adjustable gas regulator, and takes 19- or 20-round SR-25 detachable box magazines.
