The Revelli-Terni, also known as the Genovesi-Revelli, was an Italian prototype self-loading rifle designed by Abiel Revelli and produced by Fabbrica Armi Esercito di Terni.
History[]
The Revelli-Terni was developed in 1909 by Col. Abiel Revelli, then working at the Italian state rifle factory at Terni. It underwent military trials in 1910, and an order of 6,000 units was placed for the Bersaglieri. However, it appears that this order was never completed, and the project had been cancelled by the time of World War I.
Design[]
The Revelli-Terni was thought to be a recoil-operated conversion of the M1891 Carcano rifle. It was chambered for 6.5×52mm.
