The Rudd Arms AR-180 was an AR-18 variant using a delayed blowback upper receiver. The weapon was designed by Canadian gunsmith Ross Rudd who also designed a pistol using the same operation. Although the weapon was said to have worked well, Rudd was unable to find financial support for the project and it never went into production.
Overview[]
The Rudd Arms AR-180 is a hesitation locked delayed blowback upper receiver compatible with the AR-18 platform. The receiver is machined and has a component for the bolt to lock into. When firing, the bolt tilts to unlock and accelerate the bolt carrier.
