The S&H 2 Bore is a big game hunting cartridge developed and produced by Schroeder & Hetzendorfer.
It is a black powder express cartridge designed from the ground up with a proprietary case as a "true 2 bore" cartridge, that is, in the context of the number of round balls the size of the bore that are needed to make 1 pound (0.45 kilograms). The casing is CNC-machined in a high-precision, heavy-duty design for black powder rifles that are chambered for the cartridge.
The casing can accommodate a mammoth 3,500 grain (226.80 grams or a half-pound) solid brass FNTC bullet that fires at a muzzle velocity of 1,500 feet per second (460 meters per second) with a muzzle energy of 17,487 ft-lbf (23,709.1885 J). This makes for immense recoil forces. The case could also accommodate a 3,350 grain (217 grams) lead ball that fires at a muzzle velocity of 1,200 feet per second (370 meters per second).
