The ST Kinetics Bullpup Multirole Combat Rifle is a prototype Singaporean assault rifle made by ST Kinetics.
History[]
The BMCR was first unveiled by STK at the 2012 Singapore Airshow, known as the Next-Gen Concept Bullpup Rifle. Two years later, it was shown at the 2014 Singapore Airshow as the Bullpup Multirole Combat Rifle.
The BMCR is stated to be the shortest bullpup rifle in the world. The weapon was projected to be distributed to military and law enforcement agencies in early 2015, but as of 2016, the rifle is still in the prototype stage; it eventually evolved into the BR18 by 2018.
Design Details[]
The rifle is fully ambidextrous and possesses flexibility for various roles such as assault, marksman and support. The rifle's cheekrest serves as the charging handle; a charging handle like that allows it to not have any protruding parts from the side, and also makes the weapon ambidextrous. The BMCR's barrel is coated with a proprietary lubricant which repels any dust, sand or gunpowder soot, which reduces maintenance. The rifle has four Picatinny rails at the three, six, nine and twelve o'clock positions. The rifle is also designed to be over-the-beach capable.
Ammunition[]
The rifle can fire 5.56Ć45mm NATO, 6.8mm Remington SPC or 7.62Ć39mmR.
