The ST Kinetics Next Generation Concept Rifle is a Singaporean prototype assault rifle.
History[]
The NGCR was first seen in at the 2012 Singapore Air Show, displayed by ST Kinetics. It is meant to be a successor to the SAR 21, which has been in used with the Singapore Army since 1999. It is designed to be used with the ARIELE (Army Individual Eco-Lightweight Equipment) system, also designed by ST Kinetics.
Design Details[]
The NGCR claims to be about 25% lighter than the currently used SAR 21. The rifle is completely ambidextrous, with charging handles and controls on both sides of the weapon. The conventional NGCR has design cues taken from the Heckler & Koch G36 and XM8.
