The BML-37 is a magazine-fed non-lethal launcher developed by Sage Control Ordnance, Inc.
History[]
The BML-37 was designed in the early 2010s, with testing of the prototype having taken place sometime in 2011. It was also showcased at the 2014 SHOT Show.
Design Details[]
The BML-37 is a magazine-fed non-lethal launcher, developed as an alternative to single-shot, revolver-style, and rotary-based launchers. It has a semi-automatic mode of firing, and has a fixed box magazine that comes in varying capacities up to six rounds. The weapon is loaded from the top side through the chamber/ejection port into the magazine. Upon firing, the empty cartridge is automatically ejected, allowing the user to rapidly fire multiple rounds.
The weapon has two safety mechanisms; The first is of a cross bolt type located above the trigger, similar to most police/military shotguns. The second is an out-of-alignment safety, in which the firing pin is not aligned with the primer until the firing pin is ready to be released through trigger manipulation.
The BML-37's 10.5" barrel has five rifling grooves. The weapon is also compatible with AR-15 style buttstock accessories, and features Picatinny rails for sights, along with a forward grip.
Ammunition[]
Like most other non-lethal launchers produced by Sage as part of their product line, the BML-37 is compatible with 37mm Sage Rifled munitions, as well as the 37mm munitions that are used by the ARWEN 37 and variants thereof.
