The SerLea Ace is a two-barreled 9mm submachine gun of Lebanese origin.[1] The Los Angeles Police Department showed interest in the design, but in 1997, the weapon remained primarily in the hands of specialized firearms collectors.
The Ace was designed by a Lebanese gunsmith and veteran of Beirut street battles. The weapon was designed to provide a rapid burst weapon for street fighting, twice to that of a conventional submachine gun.
Overview
The SerLea Ace is a double-barreled, blowback-operated, magazine-fed open bolt fired submachine gun chambered in the 9×19mm Parabellum round. The weapon has twin barrels, twin magazines, and twin bolts, with a ratchet type synchronizing device with a sear/cam that holds the moving bolt after firing the round, releasing instantly the rival bolt vice versa to turn the weapon into a single high rate of fire submachine gun. The weapon may fire one barrel at a time only if one magazine is inserted. The barrels come with cooling fins and a compensator in the muzzle. Ejection ports are on both sides making the Ace an ambidextrous weapon. Cocking handle is at the rear behind the pistol grip cocking both bolts at the same time. The weapon also has a vertical foregrip between the barrels for recoil handling.
