Metallwarenfabrik Spreewerk GmbH was a Nazi German firearms manufacturer.

History[]

Spreewerk was opened in 1935 as a subsidiary of the Berlin-Karlsruher Industrie Werke, successor company to Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken AG. Spreewerk manufactured firearms from 1935 to April 1945 at its main factory in its Spandau factory and from 1942 to April 1945 at its Grottau, Czechoslovakia (now known as Hrádek nad Nisou) complex.

Products[]

Spreewerk manufactured firearms such as the last-ditch VG2, one of five Volksgewehr rifles. However, Spreewerk is most well known for producing a large quantity of Walther P38 pistols.
