The SALVO rifle is an experimental, multi-barreled assault rifle developed in the 1950s by Springfield Armory as an entrant to the SALVO project.
Design Details
The SALVO rifle is a three-barreled, volley fire assault rifle made in a bullpup configuration. It is based on the never-completed T31 rifle. The barrels are arranged in a triangular formation, where two of the barrels are positioned over the third one.
It is gas-operated and uses a three-chamber revolving shutter system that feeds ammunition into the weapon from a single magazine.
