Steyr Arms,[1] formerly known as Steyr Mannlicher and better known as simply Steyr, is an arm company located in Steyr, Austria. It was founded in 1864 as the the Österreichische Waffenfabriksgesellschaft (ŒWG, Austrian Arms-Manufacturing Company), and has been making hammer forged barrels longer than any other firearm manufacturer. Steyr was known for creating the bullpup Steyr AUG and participated in the Advanced Combat Rifle Program with one of the top four rifles, the Steyr ACR.
