The TTK revolver "ESAUL" (ТТХ револьвера «ЕСАУЛ» TTKh revol'vera «YESAUL»)[1], also known as the Yesaul AP revolver or ESAUL revolver (Револьвер ЕСАУЛ Revol'ver YESAUL), is a prototype Ukrainian revolver.

This revolver was designed for the Ukrainian security service; it was never produced in large numbers.[2]
Design Details[]
The TTK has a five-round cylinder and there is a rather large and distinctive laser pointer sitting at the bottom of the weapon; the laser pointer gives an idea that this was supposed to also be used as a self-defense weapon at close range, but the weapon's choice of ammunition appears to defeat the purpose.[2]
The weapon's laser pointer is activated by a pressure pad located at the rear of the weapon.[3] The weapon has a rather short barrel and is rather short itself; this may have given the weapon rather heavy recoil. The weapon has fixed sights which are said to only be effective up to about 25 metres (82 feet; 27 yards),[2] although the weapon's maximum range is stated to be 50 metres (160 feet; 55 yards).[3]
Ammunition[]
The weapon uses 5.45×39mm armor-piercing rounds, a rather odd choice given that the weapon in question is a revolver; the choice of ammunition is also rather odd as the use of 5.45mm ammunition for stopping power purposes had been discontinued in Ukraine at the time as the round has a "displaced center of gravity".[2]
