Talk: Battle rifle

Personally, I feel that battle rifles are a decent compromise between the full-power bolt-action rifle and the intermediate-round assault rifle. I still disagree that the M16 was adopted as the primary service rifle for the United States. I think it is better suited to a limited standard, specialized role for special forces or airborne troops, for example. The M16 and AK47 are well suited to CQB scenarios, but are seriously lacking for longer ranged engagements, and the battle rifle full-power rounds offer greater killing power.
