Gun Wiki

I was sad to see this gun replaced by the Beretta M9, but I can understand the need to standardise ammunition supplies. I understand the M1911 is still a popular choice among U.S. special forces, and I read where Delta Force operators chose it during their formation and trained with it for hostage rescue. The .45 ACP is a good cartridge for self defense, and this is one gun I haven't shot yet, but look forward to doing so in the future!Gbeecher 03:24, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

This weapon is very maintenance-intensive and isn't well-suited to today's military needs. Since we've senselessly bound ourselves to international law, we'd be better off finding another .45 caliber weapon, as .45 ACP FMJ > 9mm FMJ. SmokeSound off! 18:01, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
