The Model 1928 was a Japanese prototype submachine gun designed by Tokyo Arsenal.
History[]
The Model 1928 was developed after the initial trials of Tokyo Arsenal's earlier submachine gun prototype, the Model 1927. The Model 1928 was not developed from the Model 1927 and was instead an entirely new design. It was trialed in early 1930 against the Model 1927 and several imported SMGs from Europe and the United States. The Model 1928's striker broke during testing and the gun was prematurely rejected from the trials.
Design[]
The Model 1928 was a blowback-operated submachine gun that fired from a closed bolt. It had a fixed barrel and a fire selector, which offered single shots or two-round bursts.
