The Type 68 is a North Korean assault rifle.
Overview
The Type 68 is a variant of the Soviet AKM assault rifle. However, it lacks the anti-bounce mechanism that is installed in most AK variants. This means that the bolt and carrier of the Type 68 bounce when firing, sometimes causing it to misfire. Since anti-bounce mechanisms are not hard to manufacture or install, it is not exactly known why the Type 68 lacks this feature. The quality of North Korean rifles is reported to be quite good internally, but externally the rifles are apparently quite rough.
