"This weapon isn't functioning properly! Send it back to the armory and perform the necessary repairs to make it functional again."

This article needs to be cleaned up and brought up to Gun Wiki standards.

The R4 is a 5.56×45mm NATO assault rifle developed in South Africa in the 1980s to replace the 7.62×51mm NATO R1 (FN FAL) and R2 (G3). The R4 is a South African version of the Israeli IMI Galil.

Design

The gun is a direct copy of the IMI Galil, with the only major differences are that it's pre-equipped with a bipod and a longer stock.[1]

Variants

R4

Clone of the Galil AR.

R5

Clone of the Galil SAR.

R6

Carbine version of the R5.
